Azerbaijan, Spain Sign Convention On Eliminating Double Taxation
BAKU (Azerbaijan), April 24 (Bernama) — Azerbaijan and Spain have signed a Convention on the Elimination of Double Taxation with Respect to Income and Property Tax and Prevention of Tax Avoidance, Azerbainjan’s Azertac reported.
The agreement was signed by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and his Spanish counterpart Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo here.
Speaking at a press conference following the signing ceremony, Mammadyarov said there were good prospects for developing Azerbaijan-Spain relations, stressing the necessity of elevating bilateral ties to a desirable level.
He also hailed political relations between the two countries, saying that Spain has always supported Azerbaijan on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
Meanwhile, Spanish Foreign Minister Garcia-Margallo described Azerbaijan as “an important country” for Spain in the region, expressing Spain’s interest to sign a memorandum on political relations with Azerbaijan.
Garcia-Margallo also added that the document is expected to be signed during the Azerbaijani president’s visit to Spain.
