Georgia, Moldova to accelerate work over agreement on double taxation avoidance
Georgian Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri held the bilateral meetings in the Hague as part of the annual meeting of member-states of the Holland-Belgium group of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank.
In particular, he met with Moldovan Minister of Finance Anatoly Arapu and manager of the Moldovan National Bank Dorin Dragutanu. The sides discussed prospects for intensifying the bilateral trade and economic relations.
It was stressed that the work over the agreement on avoidance of double taxation will be accelerated, the Finance Ministry told Trend. Its signing will affect the intensification of the Georgian-Moldovan economic relations and attracting investments.
Nodar Khaduri also met with the finance ministers of the member-states of the Netherlands-Belgium group and heads of central banks, including Ukrainian and Armenian counterparts. The sides discussed political and economic situation in the region and issues of bilateral cooperation.
Minister of Finance of the Netherlands Jeroen Dijsselbloem discussed a memorandum signed by the Ministries of Finance of Georgia and the Netherlands. It envisages a partnership in different directions for the next year, including the public finance management, improving tax policy, internal financial control, the fight against money laundering and other issues.
During the visit, Georgian Minister of Finance met with the Queen of the Netherlands, Her Majesty Maxima, vice – president of the International Finance Corporation Dimitris Tsitsiragos , executive directors of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
