Leicester City defender Matthew Upson linked with Inside Track tax avoidance?
Leicester City defender Matthew Upson is being linked to a scheme that is currently being investigated for tax avoidance.
According to the Leicester Mercury, the 35-year-old could end up paying out thousands of pounds as a result of the investigation.
The former England international reportedly invested in the Inside Track fund, which gives benefits to investors putting money into the UK’s film industry who are able to write off losses against other income.
It is thought that the Treasury loses out on billions of pounds’ worth of revenue annually to schemes like Inside Track, with more than 12,000 people part of this particular scheme alone.
Tax avoidance is not illegal and there is no suggestion of a criminal offence.
