Fed up with manually filing forms in the Hong Kong company registry
The Companies Registry, Hong Kong has launched a full scale electronic filing system with effect from 15th February 2015 known as e-Registry. It is a 24 hour portal that allows electronic submission of applications for:
- Registration of Hong Kong companies
- Registration of non-Hong Kong companies
- 84 different specified forms under the Companies Ordinance
It aims to provide an integrated online service allowing for both business and company registration. An application for the incorporation of a local company will be considered to an application for a business registration simultaneously. In addition to this it also allows electronic notifications for change of address of registered offices. Users can submit forms and modifications individually or in bulk upon registration.
e-Registy also has the following add-ons to enhance your online experience:
- Annual return e-reminder service: Email notifications will be sent by the system, free of charge, to the users of the service and furthermore allow users to submit annual returns online.
- Third party software interface: The new system has the option for accepting forms that are generated using third party software.
- Registration of registered agent service: Company users and individual users can appoint their agents at the e-Registry for the purpose of delivering certain specified forms in an electronic format. An agent can be a company or an individual and needs to be authorized and appointed by the principal at e-Registry. This is a free of charge service.
- e-Monitor: Allows you to keep track of any updates of company information on the Company Register. This is a subscription service charged at HK$35 per year.
