Roy’s Sound Of Joy Got Louder; Bagged 62nd National Award
Sukankan Roy’s Sound of Joy has won the best Animation Film at the 62nd National Film Festival. The movie is based on Swami Vivekananda’s childhood stories.
Sukankan Roy and the entire team of Aura Cinematics along with animator Rishi Sahay won a cash prize of Rs 50,000 from the President Of India.
Sukankan Roy also posted a moment on Facebook saying, “When I look back and admit that we pulled off a winner after enormous effort by a super spirited team of dedicated artists. Being the Director of the film I congratulate the whole team for their emmense contribution towards this grand success.”
Sound Of Joy is a 52 minutes long film, that portrays the story of Biley, young Swami Vivekanand and his inner strength and self belief. Roy explained to a leading publication that this is the first ever film after a treaty was signed between India and Poland in 2013 to avoid double taxation. Currently Sukankan Roy is busy with another animation movie Quo Vadis, based on Henryk Sienkiewicz’s hstorical novel of the same name.
