IBFD holds first-ever Africa tax symposium
Bring together an impressive group of respected tax professionals from all over Africa, International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD) is set to hold “Africa Tax Symposium, Trends in International Taxation: An African Perspective,” from June 18-19, 2015 in Livingstone, Zambia.
IBFD announces that its inaugural The two-day event will present a complete picture of international taxation in the BEPS era, with special focus on Africa, and will feature prominent speakers, including IBFD tax experts on Africa, and eminent tax practitioners and professors from Africa, the United States and Europe.
As the foremost provider of information on cross-border taxation, IBFD is uniquely placed to host the Africa Tax Symposium, which will welcome 130 delegates from 25 countries. The Symposium is sponsored by IBFD with support from KPMG Zambia and the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants, and is fully endorsed by the Zambian Ministry of Finance. The comprehensive programme will cover top trends in international taxation, including base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS), the taxation of natural resources and transfer pricing.
The initiative to hold the Symposium was led by Belema Obuoforibo, Director of the IBFD Knowledge Centre, and Kennedy Munyandi, IBFD Manager for Africa, Middle East & Latin America. “We are delighted with the high level of interest our inaugural Africa Tax Symposium has attracted and are looking forward to hosting what we are sure will be a very successful event,” said Mr. Munyandi.

With over 160 staff members from more than 35 countries, IBFD is an international pre-eminent independent (non profit) foundation with the ultimate goal to promote and disseminate the understanding of cross-border taxation at the highest level.
