U.S and Azerbaijan to sign an additional interagency agreement on FATCA
Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan and the U.S. are likely to sign another agreement in support of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA).
Deputy Taxes Minister Natig Amirov has stated that the general agreement on cooperation has already been ratified by the head of state.
“Work is underway over the signing of one more agreement between the tax authorities of Azerbaijan and the U.S. It defines the technical details of exchange of tax information. After the signing of this agreement it will be provided mutual exchange of information about taxpayers,” Amirov said.
He added that the signing of the interagency agreement, providing technical details, is expected already in the current year.
“Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) between the U.S. and Azerbaijan was signed on 9 September 2015 and ratified by Milli Majlis on 20 October. Also, the presidential order dated from 20 October was published only on 2 November.
