Facebook under fire in Poland over tax avoidance
Besides facing regulatory pressure in Europe over issues ranging from privacy to antitrust claims to content removal, Facebook has also come under fire from the Polish government amid claims of tax avoidance.
“Facebook has not paid a single zloty” in corporate income tax in Poland last year, Entrepreneurship and Technology Minister Jadwiga Emilewicz said.
“I think it’s high time that global platforms which use EU data and provide services to customers in Europe, were forced to act in a civilised way and pay their taxes in Europe,” she added.
