Belarus, France to sign agreements on investment protection, double taxation avoidance
MINSK, 18 June (BelTA) – Belarus and France are preparing to sign bilateral agreements on investment protection and double taxation avoidance. This and other upcoming events were discussed during a meeting of Belarusian Ambassador to the French Republic Pavel Latushko and Julien Buissart, Head of the CIS, Balkans and Middle-East countries at the French Ministry of Economy and Finance, on 15 June, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in France.
Both instruments are aimed at improving the legal framework of the bilateral cooperation in economy. The Ministry of Economy and Finance representative was invited to consider the possibility of establishing a Belarusian-French association between businessmen of the two countries.
The parties discussed the status and ways to intensify trade, economic and investment cooperation. Ambassador Pavel Latushko emphasized the need to discuss concrete projects during the third meeting of the joint Belarusian-French commission for economic cooperation due in Minsk in late October-first half of November 2018. One of the projects focuses on closer cooperation between the working groups in tourism and environmental protection. Ambassador Pavel Latushko stressed the importance of organizing business forums of both bilateral and multilateral format.
