Chief Collector Nadir Hoti for early disposal of tax evasion cases pending in courts
ISLAMABAD: Model Customs Collectorate Chief Collector Nadir Khan Hoti has told customs lawyers to resolve all cases pending in courts and tribunals as soon as possible, and also asked them to send the list of all the cases to the collectorate.
In this regard, officials have started the process of recovery from people against whom the courts and tribunals have given verdict, but despite back-to-back notices for the recovery of duty and taxes, no response has been shown by the evaders.
On this, customs authorities started raiding their houses.
Moreover, officials are also taking action against people who have registered more than one company with their name, or after being declared defaulters, had open companies with their family members’ name with new NTN numbers.
Sources said that customs officials are trying to search their addresses through their NTN and CNIC numbers with the help of NADRA database. Moreover, many defaulters have been identified in this recovery programme and customs teams are visiting their houses.
