Armenia and Argentina to exchange taxation-related information
YEREVAN, February 9. /ARKA/. The Armenian parliament ratified today an agreement between the governments of Armenia and Argentina on exchange of taxation-related information, signed in 2015 July.
According to the deputy head of Armenian State Revenue Committee Vakhtang Mirumyan, this agreement, initiated by the Argentine side, is aimed at providing a legal framework for the cooperation of the tax authorities of the two countries. He said this is a standard agreement , aimed at the exchange of data between countries and combating tax evasion.
“Unlike an agreement excluding double taxation, this particular agreement calls for streamlining of all issues related to exchange of information and tax fees related to all types of taxes,” said Mirumyan.
Mirumyan said that Armenia has concluded similar agreements with eight countries and agreements with several other countries are in the process of reconciliation. He said also he had no information about the volume of Armenian investments in Argentina, adding that Armenian exports to that country in 2016 amounted to about $ 4 million.
According to Armenian National Statistical Service, Argentinean investments in Armenia from 1998 to September 2016 stood at 298.1 billion drams. The bulk of them were channeled into air transport and banking sectors. One of the largest investors in Armenia is a well-known Argentinean businessman of Armenian origin Eduardo Eurnekian.
