Khalifa issues decrees
ABU DHABI: President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued a number of federal decrees with respect to ratifying agreements with a number of brotherly and friendly countries and setting up new consulates abroad. The decrees were published in the recent issue of the federal official gazette.
Khalifa issued federal decree no. 69 for 2014 ratifying a security co-operation agreement with India, which was signed on Nov.23, 2011.
He also issued federal decree no.70 for 2014 ratifying an agreement with Japan to avoid double taxation and prevent income tax evasion, which was signed in Dubai on May 2, 2013.
Sheikh Khalifa issued federal decree no.71 for 2014 ratifying an agreement with Benin to avoid double taxation and prevent income tax evasion, which was signed in Abu Dhabi on March 4, 2013.
He also issued federal decree no.72 for 2014 ratifying an agreement with Slovenia to avoid double taxation and prevent income tax evasion, which was signed in Washington on Oct.12, 2013.
A federal decree no.73 for 2014 was also issued ratifying an agreement with Hungary to avoid double taxation and prevent income tax evasion, which was signed in Dubai on April 30, 2013, while federal decree no.74 for 2014 ratified an agreement with India to encourage and protect investments which was signed in New Delhi on Dec.12, 2013.
Sheikh Khalifa issued federal decree no.75 for 2014 with respect to the UAE joining the Nagoya – Kuala Lumpur Supplementary Protocol on Liability and Redress to the Cartagena Protocol.
He also issued federal decree no.76 for 2014 with respect to the UAE joining the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilisation.
Sheikh Khalifa issued federal decree no.77 for 2014 with respect to the UAE joining the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety for the Convention on Biological Diversity.
He also issued federal decree no.87 for 2014 ratifying an agreement with Cambodia on air services which was signed in Dubai on May 9, 2013.
Federal decree no. 79 for 2014 was also issued ratifying an agreement with Zambia on air services, which was signed in Dubai on Oct.1, 2012, while federal decree no. 80 for 2014 ratified an agreement with Argentina on air services which was signed in Abu Dhabi on January 14, 2013.
Sheikh Khalifa issued federal decree no. 80 for 2014 ratifying a sea transport agreement with Algeria which was signed in Abu Dhabi on May 13, 2013.
He also issued federal decrees nos. 82, 83 and 84 for 2014 setting up embassies for the UAE in Angola, Mozambique and Cuba respectively.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Khalifa issued federal decree no. 85 for 2014 appointing Yousef Saleh Al Suwaiji in the membership of Union Rail Company to replace Abdullah Mohammed Al Al Zarri Al Shamsi.
He also issued federal decree no. 86 for 2014 ratifying a framework agreement for economic, commercial, investment and technical co-operation between the GCC countries and the US which was signed in New York on Sept.25, 2012.
Federal decree no. 87 for 2014 was issued with respect to setting up a consulate for the UAE in Toronto, Canada, while federal decree no. 88 for 2014 was issued with respect to appointing Dr. Riyadh Abdul Latif Al Muhaideb as director of Zayed University, and federal decree no. 89 for 2014 was issued with respect to appointing Saeed Matar Sultan Al Sairi as Consul General in Melbourne, Australia.
Sheikh Khalifa issued federal decree no. 90 for 2014 transferring Saif Abdullah Mohammed Al Shamsi, Consul General of the UAE in Istanbul, Turkey to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He also issued federal decree no. 91 for 2014 appointing Khalifa Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Marzouqi as Consul General of the UAE in Istanbul, Turkey.
