Action Aid says next govt should deal with double taxation
Action Aid country Director Pamela Chisanga says the next government should consider reviewing double taxation agreements Zambia has signed with other country in bid to make them more beneficial to the country.
Ms Chisanga says most of the agreements are outdated hence the need to review them in order to meet the changing trends of the economy.
Ms .Chisanga regrets that at the moment it is hard to collect significant revenue through taxes from multinationals which have continued to benefit more from the country’s natural resources.
She says Action Aid is of the view that the incoming government must make it a priority to review the double taxation agreements in the shortest period of time so that the country can benefit.
