Khalifa ratifies UAE agreements
ABU DHABI: President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued a number of federal decrees with respect to ratifying agreements between the UAE and a number of friendly countries and transferring, appointing and promoting a group of diplomatic corps members. The decrees have been published in the recent issue of the official gazette.
Sheikh Khalifa issued a federal decree no. 64 for 2015 ratifying an agreement to avoid double taxation and prevent fiscal evasion with respect to income taxes and capital gains. The agreement was signed with the Eastern Republic of Uruguay in Washington on October 10, 2010.
He also issued a federal decree no. 65 for 2015 ratifying an air services agreement with Vietnam which was signed in Dubai on December 16, 2014.
A federal decree no. 66 for 2015 was also issued for ratifying an air services agreement with Mongolia which was signed in Abu Dhabi on November 25, 2007. A similar federal decree no. 67 for 2015 was issued for ratifying an air services agreement with Latvia which was signed in New York on September 25, 2014.
Sheikh Khalifa issued a federal decree no. 68 for 2015 ratifying an agreement for exempting passport holders from applying for prior entry visas. The agreement was signed with Seychelles in Abu Dhabi on November 23, 2014.
He also issued a federal decree no. 69 for 2015 ratifying an agreement to set up a joint co-operation committee. The agreement was signed with Brunei in Abu Dhabi on May 4, 2014.
A federal decree no. 70 for 2015 was also issued for ratifying an agreement to exempt passport holders from applying for prior entry visas. The agreement was signed with Columbia in Abu Dhabi on November 15, 2014.
Sheikh Khalifa issued a federal decree no. 71 promoting Ahmed Ali Mohammed Al Bulooshi, a diplomatic and consular corps member from Minister Plenipotentiary of the First Rank to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
He also issued a federal decree no. 72 for 2015 appointing Abdullah Mohammed Abdullah Al Takawi as Ambassador to Uganda and another federal decree no. 73 for 2015 assigning Salem Khalifa Mohammed Khalifa Al Ghafli to the tasks of Ambassador to Yemen and granting him the title of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary as long as he takes up the post.
Sheikh Khalifa issued a federal decree no. 74 for 2015 transferring Mohammed Ahmed Hamel Khalfan Al Qubaisi, UAE Ambassador to Singapore, to the office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He also issued a federal decree no. 75 for 2015 adjourning the 4th session of the 15th legislative chapter of the Federal National Council by Tuesday, June 16, 2015.
