Belarus-Georgia agreement on avoidance of double taxation ratified
MINSK, 15 October (BelTA) – The House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus ratified the Belarus-Georgia intergovernmental agreement on avoidance of double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and capital on 15 October, BelTA has learned.
It is expected that the agreement will promote economic cooperation between the two countries. The document will also guarantee stable tax regime for investors.
Belarusian senators ratified a protocol to the Belarus-India agreement on avoidance of double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and real estate (capital) signed on 27 September 1997. The protocol expands opportunities for tax inspections to get information from banks and other financial and credit institutions.
The MPs also ratified the agreement on information sharing, including classified information, in the financial sector with an aim to create conditions for free movement of capital on financial markets. The document will provide an opportunity to get information on the activity of professional participants of the stock market.
The House of Representatives will next hold its joint meeting with the Council of the Republic on 30 October.
