UAE and Mauritania sign agreements on preventing double taxation and boosting investment
NOUAKCHOTT 22nd October 2015 (WAM) — The UAE and Mauritania yesterday signed two agreements preventing double taxation and protecting and promoting investment between the two countries.
The agreements were signed by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foreign Minister and Hamadi Ould Baba Ould Hamadi Mauritanian Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
During the meeting which took place in Nouakchott yesterday H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and his Mauritanian counterpart discussed UAE and Mauritanian relations and ways of boosting them in various fields to serve the interests of the peoples of both countries. The two sides also exchanged views on current developments at regional and international levels and a number of issues of common concern.
During his official visit to Mauritania Sheikh Abdullah visited the Sheikh Zayed Solar Power Plant a 15-megawatt photovoltaic facility in the capital Nouakchott where he was greeted by the Mauritanian Minister of Petroleum Energy and Minerals Mohammed Salem Ould Al Bashir.
The plant produces 10% of the production of electricity in Mauritania which covers the electrical consumption needs of 10000 homes annually and is the largest solar energy plant in West Africa.
The meeting was attended by Issa Abdullah Al Kalbani UAE Ambassador to Mauritania.
