MINSK, 29 December (BelTA) – The work on the agreement on sharing tax data between member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) is in the final stage. The statement was made by Belarusian Tax and Duties Eurasian
Economic Union (EEU)Minister Sergei Nalivaiko during the press conference hosted by the BelTA website on 29 December.
According to the source, experts of tax agencies of the Eurasian Economic Union member states have worked out a draft international agreement on information exchange using the platform of the Eurasian Economic Commission. The work on the document is in the final stage now. The agreement is supposed to be signed in 2016.
The experts are working on the protocol on sharing digital data between tax agencies of the Eurasian Economic Union member states for the sake of tax administration. In line with the draft document the tax authorities of one country will automatically share information about the revenues received by residents of the other countries in their territory. The tax agencies will also share information about property owned by residents of other EEU member states and the participation of the residents of other member states in charter funds of corporations.
The data sharing procedures will allow establishing control over the revenues and assets of residents of the EEU member states in the other countries of the Union.
Apart from that, plans have been made to prepare amendments to the protocol on collecting indirect taxes and the mechanism to control their payment during export and import operations as well as the provision of services. The protocol is addendum No. 18 to the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty. The first consultations on amending the document took place during the session of experts of the Tax Policy and Administration Advisory Committee under the Eurasian Economic Commission in Minsk in mid-December.
