Armenia and Sweden free businesses of double taxation
Armenian foreign minister Edward Nalbandian and his Sweden opposite number Margot Wallström have signed today in Yerevan an agreement on the mutual avoidance of double taxation of income and property and prevention of tax evasion.
Speaking to reporters after the signing ceremony, Nalbandian said the two countries are boosting a multifaceted dialogue on domestic, regional and international issues. He said the agreement is important because companies with Swedish capital operate in Armenia. He said both countries are determined to continue the dialogue at the highest level for the deepening of cooperation.
He said also these ties became especially active after the opening of Armenian embassy in Stockholm and Swedish embassy in Yerevan in 2014.
According to him, the sides have reached also an agreement on the improvement of their legal framework and encouragement of investment.
For her part, Margot Wallström emphasized that the signing of the agreement opens up broad opportunities for the development of bilateral commercial and economic relations.
