Oman’s ministry of finance launches taxation portal
Muscat: A portal for entities subjected to taxation was launched on Wednesday by the ministry of finance.
The ministry, represented by the Secretariat General for Taxation launched the portal www.taxoman.gov.om.
The portal has legislations, taxation charts and agreements on avoidance of double taxation as well as developments in the field of taxation and communication.
The launch of the portal came within the latest amendments of the income tax law promulgated by Royal Decree No. 9/2017 which stipulated electronic submission of tax declarations.
The portal in particular enables the registration of entities subjected to taxation, review and amendment of details of such entities, submission of tax declarations, submission of requests for exemption from income tax, obtainment of tax certificates and opposition on tax assessments among other services.
Electronic income tax payment will be activated soon to enable payment through the portal.
