Armenia, Malta sign double tax treaty
YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 25, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan on September 24 met with Malta’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Promotion Carmelo Abela on the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the Armenian ministry told Armenpress.
The officials praised the current dynamic dialogue between the two countries and the achievements reached within its framework. In this respect they attached importance to the holding of regular consultations between the two foreign ministries, promotion of effective contacts at the parliamentary format, organization of mutual visits at different levels and implementation of educational and cultural exchange programs.
Both FMs expressed readiness to continue taking practical actions to develop and expand the partnership in commercial, agriculture, tourism, IT, creative education and innovation spheres.
At the end of the meeting the sides signed the agreement on excluding double taxation of income and preventing tax evasion between the Armenian and Maltese governments. According to the FMs, the signing of the agreement is a key step to make the business circles of the two states closer and create favorable cooperation conditions for them.
